    Hi All

I hope there's someone out there who can help me fix a friend's car. It turns over, but won't start. I checked for a spark, and it's fine. I couldn't find a schrader valve on the fuel rail to check fuel pressure, but I did loosen a fuel line and cranked the engine - there's no fuel pressure. The inertia switch is O.K.

He has a Jaguar wiring diagram, and I traced the fuel pump wiring. However, there are several key components that I would like to test, but I can't find them on the car. These are (including diagram reference number) - Fuel pump 201, Pump relay 198, Main relay 197, P.I. relay 152. There are two banks of relays in the engine compartment (one at the front and one at the nearside) but, according to the wiring colour codes in the wiring diagram, none of them are those I want to test.

Is there anyone out there who can help please?

Tracked the problem down to a faulty relay, now up and running.

First check the relays in the boot there on the driver’s side by the ECU (change them with something that you know that works) all so check the earth straps
The pump is behind the casing where the battery is remove the spear wheel and you will find the filter
