TVR use a button under the mirror to release the door. A manual override could be easily provided by having a wire pull in the front inner wheel arch, that would be taped down under black duct tape until needed, and if the electronics ever failed you then pull the cord to unlock and open the door. Unlikely a theiving scum bag would look there.

Re: shaved doors
I think that you can keep your doors, maybe there would be a mod inside the door to accept the longer door glass when you open the window. It might just be a case of losing the window frame, fitting the facelift glass seal and triangle and gluing the larger door rubber to the door opening. Do you have a friend with a facelift? You could check out the differences. The actual door looks the same as the pre-facelift.

Re: shaved doors
Hi Tony,
I modified your side window with a facelift version, just to see how it looks with the pre-facelift rear pillar.
As you can see there is no quaterlight and surrounding frame. The sealing rubber is fitted to the door opening, which is under the side glass. At the front of the side glass is a fill-in triangle, you could also relocate the door mirror there.
If you compare it with your original image, I think it looks cleaner.

Re: shaved doors
Hello Tony,
have you thought about adapting the frameless door system from the facelift XJS?
The facelift has a one peice door glass without the quaterlight. This could also clean up the side of the car.
It gives better access getting in and out and looks really cool when you open the doors with the glass dowwn, just like a Matchbox car.

Re: shaved doors
i have looked into this and it's a grey area.
you must have another means of opening the doors as well as the electronic way.
i have fitted buttons in the boot.

Hi Tony, was going to do this myself, but told you must still be able to manually open the drivers door from the outside, do you know if this is so? Doors look brill. Keith

shaved doors
I have just removed the external door handle from mine and filled in the holes.
Using solinoids to open the doors at a touch of a remote button.
makes the side of the car look nice and smooth,
