Hello Chris,
another James here! I've got a 1990 V12 Coupe for sale. It's an interesting one this as it's had a great deal of work already done on it by Knowles Wilkins Engineering (KWE Jaguar) who are local to me in Newbury. You may or may not know that they're generally considered to be the marque/model specialists for the XJS so I'm lucky to have them so near. This one is a good car in that the engine and transmission are excellent and after much work at KWE, I can confidently claim that mechanically it's superb too having had all new suspension and brakes courtesy of KWE, brand new stainless complete exhaust system, air conditioning extensive refurbishment (new parts, not just a re-gass!), major service with perishable replacement, brand new tyres and Speedline alloys (period alloys used on TWR Jaguars) offering larger rim therefore wider tyre choice and a slightly firmer ride. All in all, I've spend around £22k on this car - it needs some further work (bodywork) to complete the job but this is a feature of EVERY XJS you'll come across. As the Chris Knowles at KWE puts it, it's not a question of if an older XJS needs work, it's just how much! With this one, you've got the benefit of a clear and documented partial professional restoration with a clear view on what's left to do. I'm looking for a fraction of what I've spent on it - there's a good reason that I'm not holding on to her myself which I'll be happy to share with you by email / telephone if you're interested. I'd say it's definitely worth a call if you're after a good car for a good price from a genuine seller. Best wishes, James Avison james.avison@btinternet / 07748 987618.
