I thought it would be interesting to hear from others how they found their way into XJS ownership. Lucky barn find, passed down from elderly relative, fell in love with the car after watching The Saint and had to have one etc.
For me I've been into cars and mucking about on them since I bought a VW Scirocco about 7 or 8 years ago.
My XJS was advertised on eBay very cheap but no-one bought it. I thought it looked spot on and the red leather interior looked A1 but I wasn't to be fooled. I contacted the owner who had the car sat in a local garage to sell for him. He put me in touch with the garage after we agreed on the price and after I arranged a professional inspection I went ahead and bought it.
There's something special about the XJS. It's unique in appearance and the lines are just lovely to look at. I think some of it is the fact that it's a Jaguar that makes it special to drive. I think we're all old enough to remember the pre-Ford days when a Jaguar was held in a much greater esteem and I suppose getting behind the wheel helps us reminisce a little about those younger days.
That's my story, please add your own for everyone to read and we'll get to know each other a little bit more.
